Margaret (Margie) Dirksen age 76 of Maria Stein, Ohio died at 1:35 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community. She was born on April 26, 1938 in Philothea, Ohio to Joseph & Theresa (Stahl) Pleiman, who both preceded her in death. On June 18, 1960 she married Paul J. Dirksen. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1996. Margie was a homemaker and helped run the family dairy farm before she retired. Survivors include three daughters, Teresa (Don) Puthoff, Columbus, Julie(Brent) Shafer, Columbus Grove, and Janice (Rob) Riggs, Chicago; two sons, Tom Dirksen, Maria Stein and Jim (Amy Meier) Dirksen, Versailles; eight grandchildren, Nathan and Sarah Puthoff, Brady & Zach Shafer, Jacob, Kyle, Tyler & Travis Dirksen. Also surviving are three brothers Ernie (Emma) Pleiman Bob (Betty) Pleiman, Coldwater, Tom (Marilyn) Pleiman, Scottsdale , AZ, fours sisters-in-law, Gerri Dirksen, Wilmette, IL, Mary Dirksen, Celina, Barbara (Jack) Gels, Dayton, Salome Pleiman, Coldwater. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Vera Stelzer, Lucille Fleck, RoseAnn Post and Alice Homan, one brother, Arthur Pleiman and six brother-in-laws Florian Stelzer, Richard Fleck, Ralph Post, Leonard Homan, Donald Dirksen and Carl Dirksen. Margie enjoyed many activities including reading, line dancing, traveling, singing in the church choir and weekly coffee meetings. She especially enjoyed time with her friends, family and grandchildren. She was a hard worker and faithful church member, teaching those qualities to her children and grandchildren by her example. She loved a good laugh and enjoyed people and conversation. Her quick wit and warm heart will be truly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood with Rev. David Zink, Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery Osgood. Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM on Wednesday and from 9 to 10 AM on Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Condolences may be made at
