Irella C. Wente age 97 of New Bremen, Ohio died Tuesday March 4, 2014 at Elmwood Assisted Living, New Bremen. She was born on February 26, 1917 in Cranberry Prairie, Ohio to the late John & Loretta (Reier) Brockman. She married Raymond J. Wente on November 8, 1941 in Cranberry Prairie. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1996. She is survived by her children: Betty Lou & Raymond Beyke, Greenville, Ohio, Lavern & Patricia Wente, Minster, JoAnn & Larry Derksen, Celina, Jerry & Patricia Wente, Troy, Marvin & Cheryl Wente, New Bremen, Joyce & Randy Burnett, Independence, KY, 19 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren, step sister Wilma Beyke, Celina & step brother Mel & Agnes Bertke, Coldwater. She was preceded in death by her step mother Agnes (Bertke) Brockman & brother Serenus & Rita Brockman. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen, and of the New Bremen Senior Citizens. She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Mannebach celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster, Ohio. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2014 and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2014.
